Obituary for Rachel Davis (Eaves)

Rachel Eaves Davis, 91, of Athens, died Monday afternoon, December 16, 2013 at Etowah Dialysis Center.
A lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Roy B. and Bertha Womac Eaves and was
also preceded in death by her husband Leonard Eugene Davis and two sisters, Evelyn Penny and Annabelle
Gibson and two brother, Earl (Yank) Evans and Roy B. Evans, Jr.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Athens. She was associated with Peerless Woolen Mills in Cleveland, Beauknit of Etowah and then Damy Industries until her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bud Walker and Reba and Billie C. Reagan all of Riceville; two granddaughters, Donna W. Spurgeon and Shannon Caldwell both of Cleveland; three grandsons, Tony Walker, Jeff Walker both of Riceville and Tracy Reagan of Cleveland; eight great-grandchildren. five great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 6:00 pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bernard and Rev. Dennis Leamon officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 am, Thursday at Double Springs Cemetery for the burial. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Wednesday at the funerahome prior to the service.
