Obituary for Phillip Harold Anders

Phillip Harold Anders, 75, of Athens, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Life Care Center of Athens.

He was born and raised in Centerville, Iowa. After serving 8 years in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked for many years in the Nuclear Power field and retired from EBASCO Systems after 25 years. He then continued his career working in many power plants across the county and retiring from the Washington Division of URS. He was an avid golfer, he loved reading, crossword puzzles and sports. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Franklin Anders and Leonora Thomas Anders and a sister, Lorelei Anders.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judith Conlin Anders of Athens; a son and his wife Brian and Karen Anders of Lancaster, SC; a daughter and her husband, Jennifer Anders D'Amico and David of Lilburn, GA; five granddaughters, Christa and Victoria Anders, Sarah, Morgan and Julianna D'Amico; brothers, Ronald Anders of Croghan, NY, Dennis Anders and his wife Noel of Summit, MS, and Thomas Anders of Centerville, IA; sisters, Deborah Hiatt and her husband Gary of Centerville, IA and Mary Wood of Chariton, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm, Monday, March 2 at Athens Christian Church with Pastor Darrin Long officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3-4pm.
