Thomas (Dexter) Toomey, 22, of Athens, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was preceded in death by his grandfather, R.A.(David) Hicks, Sr.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a 2010 graduate of McMinn County High School. He was associated with Thompson industrial as a technician.

He is survived by his parents, Randy and Suzie Hicks Toomey; one brother, Chase Toomey all of Athens; maternal grandmother, Patricia K. Hicks of Knoxville; and paternal grandparents, Rev. Mike and Sissie Bernard of Athens.

A memorial service will be conducted, 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bernard and Rev. Jerry Plaster officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will be private for the family.
