Anna "Jo" Miller Norwood, 87, of Athens, died Monday morning, December 28, 2015 at Life Care Center of Athens.
She was a native of Clovis, New Mexico and was a longtime resident of McMinn County. She was a daughter of the late Edgar A. and Marian Brooner Miller and was also preceded in death by her husband Barney M. Norwood and a sister Helen Bright.
She was a 77 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church joining April 17, 1938, where she was a member of the Catherine Eye Circle. She delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and James Mitchell of Morristown; one son, Steve Norwood of Athens; one sister, Betty M. Holloway of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Edgar G. and Christine Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:30 pm, Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Jay Ferguson officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be friends, nephews and nieces' husbands.
