Roberta Bohannon Russell, 88, of the Clearwater community near Athens, died
Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2016 at her residence.
She was a resident of McMinn County for most of her life, and was a daughter of the late Claude and Eva Key Bohannon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert S, Russell, and two sisters, Armeda Schultz and Lorene Clayton.
She was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church. She was the manager of Majors Medical Book Store in Atlanta, Georgia for 22 years.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert S.,Jr. and Deborah Russell and Perry Russell all of Athens; one granddaughter, Katy Russell; three grandsons, Shane, Andy, and Carey Russell; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Guffey Russell of Athens.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2016 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 8, 2016 in Clearwater Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Schultz, Bobby Schultz, Shane Russell, Carey Russell, Andrew Russell and Katy Russell.
The family suggests memorials be made to Clearwater Volunteer Fire Dept.1022 County Road 172, Athens, TN 37303.
