Gertrude "Trudy" Carroll Reynolds,89, of Hempstead, Texas and formerly of Athens, died Friday night, January 29, 2016, in a Houston, Texas healthcare facility.
She was a longtime resident of Athens and was a daughter of the late Sam and Ora Torrence Carroll. She was also preceded in death by her husband Arville Ray Reynolds, sister, Marjorie Watson, brother, Lowell Carroll, niece, Debbie Lawhorne, and nephews, Tommy and Rodger Carroll.
She was a lifelong member of North Athens Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Sheila and Larry Dennis and Carolyn Reynolds all of Hempstead, TX; grandchildren, Sandra McNeil and her husband Scott McNeil of Fulshear, TX, Larry Dennis, II and his wife Elizabeth Dennis of Austin, TX, and Dr. Victoria Leonhart and her husband Dr. Ryan Leonhart of Boerne, TX; and great-grandchildren, Tiffany McNeil, Steven Dennis, Asher Leonhart, and Alden Leonhart.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am, Thursday, February 4, 2016 in McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Hendree Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 am, Thursday at Smith Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
