Doris Jean Thompson Umbricht, 83, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Athens, realized her eternal peace in heaven Wednesday, February 3, 2016, in Pasadena, California at the home of her son Michael Umbricht.
She was a native of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Horace A. and Oneita Mahoney Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Emil Umbricht, a son Anthony John Umbricht, and sisters Laura Evelyn Bohannon and Jo Cantrell.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie Lynn and Daniel Wall of Naples, Fl; a son, Michael Emil Umbricht of Pasadena, CA.; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Herman Thompson of Lewisburg, TN and Sherman and Nancy Thompson of Hendersonville, TN.
A Memorial service will be conducted, 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. David Graybeal officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon til 1:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be her brother, nephews, and her children.
