Obituary for Carl Lee ""Alright"" Melton

Carl Lee "Alright" Melton, 83, of Riceville, died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Hershel and Artie Dixon Melton. He was also preceded in death by a sister Vorus Ingle and her husband Bill Ingle and a brother Jack Melton.
Carl was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and was a member of Meridian Sun Lodge #50 F&AM, and was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Chattanooga Scottish Rite Consistory, and the Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was associated with Mayfield's Dairy Farms as a routeman, retiring after 28 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Vesta Watson Melton of Riceville; brother, Herman Melton and wife Majorie of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Sarah Grace Melton of Cleveland; special niece Linda Owens; special nephew, Tom Melton; special great-nephew, Greig Roberts; niece, Mitzi Gibson and husband Chuck; nephews, Steve Melton and wife Donna and Dennis Melton and wife Diannia; several great-nieces and great- nephews; special cousin, Carolyn Harris and husband James; special 2nd cousin, Vicki Harris; special friends, Carl Hutsell, Fred McKinney, Vic and Jane Wooten, Dr. Eric DeFreitas and wife Mary Beth.

A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 15, 2016 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Pruitt and Rev. Mike Dannel officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Steve Moses, Ron Morris, William (Tick) Lee, Ricky Mayes, Donnie Anderson, Jerry Millsaps, Drew Webb and Eddy Woody. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Hutsell and Fred McKinney.
