Obituary for Randolph J. "Bucky" Hall Jr.

Randolph J. (Bucky) Hall, Jr., of Athens, passed away at his home in Athens, TN on January 25, 2017 at the age of 62.
Bucky was born on May 8, 1954 in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Randy and Anita Owen Hall. He came home from the hospital to Athens, TN where his parents had just moved prior to his birth. He was a student of City Park Elementary, Athens Junior High School and a member of the McMinn County High School Class of 1973.He became an Eagle Scout at age 14 with Prof Powers' Scout Troop 116. Bucky began work at Bowater Newsprint in 1978 in the yard crew and worked in almost every department. He retired as a Production Supervisor in the Kraftmill in 2002 due to Throat Cancer and the resulting complications, which eventually led to his death after a difficult 15 year battle. He was an avid outdoorsman who passed along his love of the great outdoors to his children.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Hall; his mother, Anita Hall; his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Amanda Hall; his daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Richey Carter; his grandchildren, Ethan Carter, Cale Howe and Ruth Hall; and his siblings, Vivian Wade, of Cartersville,GA, Taryn and Donnie Gill of Cleveland, TN, and Ty and Diana Hall of Athens. He was preceded in death by his father, Randolph J. Hall, Sr. January 15, 2016.
A memorial service will be conducted 6:00 pm, Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
