Johnny Blair Lankford, 81, of the Mt. Harmony Community near Niota, died Friday morning, February 17, 2017 at his home.
He was a native of Monroe county and longtime resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Henry and Ina Abbott Lankford. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Bryant and Lois Dockery, and brothers, James Lankford, Carl Lankford, L.E. Lankford and Ivan Lankford.
He was a Dairy Farmer for many years. He served in the Tennessee National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Giles Lankford of Niota; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Darlene an Randy Pratt of Ok, Fl, Crystal Michelle Sneed of Sweetwater and Kerry Denise and Steve Rogers of Robbinsville, NC; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Johnny Calvin Lankford of Niota, Charles and Jean Lankford of Madisonville, Michael and Missy Lankford of Athens and Ricky Lankford of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Corey Lankford, Mary Ann Lankford, Stephanie Lankford, Julia Lankford, Felicia Pratt, Randy Pratt, Karin Pratt, Christopher Sneed, John Bittner; great-grandchildren, Coy Lankford, Bradley Lankford, Hunter Lankford, Linley Pratt, Morgan Pratt, Gemma Pratt, Tucker Pratt, Johnny Pratt, Jordan and Gabriel, Titan Sneed and Everleigh Sneed; a sister Mary Sweaton of Knoxville; and a brother Bobby Lankford of Sweetwater.
There will be no formal service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Smith Funeral Home.
