Thomas Gary Monroe, 69, of Athens, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Jacob and Bessie Mae Fox Monroe.
He had been associated with the State of Tennessee as a Rest Area Maintenance worker.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Gail Hayes Monroe of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Kay and Mike Hyde of Chattanooga,TN; two sons, Darrel Monroe of Sweetwater and William Anthony Monroe of Athens; brother, Reeford Monroe of Athens; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal service or visitation.
