Obituary for Frances Heffron (Collake)

Frances Collake Ringley Heffron, 91, of Athens died, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Life Care Center of Athens.
She was a native of Polk County, was raised in the Gudger Community, and was a daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Sue McInturff Collake. She was also preceded in death by her first husband David Ringley, her second husband Charles (Chuck) Heffron, sister, Bonnie Biar and Ruby Nabors and a brother Curtis Collake.
She had attended Keith Memorial United Methodist Church. She was active at the Senior Citizens Center in Athens and had been a secretary at Oak Ridge on the Manhattan Project.
She is survived by a son, David Ringley of Athens; a great-nephew; special friends, Lee Ona and Maurice Young of Etowah; and many friends at the Senior Citizens Center.
A funeral service will be conducted, 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 11, in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. David Graybeal officiating. Interment will follow in Sweetwater Valley Memory Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
