Condolence: Jack was a one of a kind person. My wife needed the yard mowed, and Jack answered the call. I had many conversations with him about English soccer. He was a great guy to know who would help any person who needed a hand. I am only sorry that I could not get to his visitation or funeral. RIP Jack

Condolence: Please accept our condolences for your loss. Jack was a friend of sports throughout McMinn County and I considered him a friend as I coached Little League and MCHS Swimming. That friendship lasted through the years. I also had the pleasure of having Jacque as a student. Our prayers are with the family now and in the days to come. May God sustain you through your days of grief.

Condolence: I first want to express my gratitude for having met Jack years ago as a young girl. His daughter, Jacque, and I were best friends at the time and Jack was like a second father to me. I have many wonderful memories of the family. Secondly, I want to share my heartfelt condolences to the Slayton family. I pray the days ahead are eased with all the wonderful memories of this dear man.

Condolence From: Arlene Rector
Condolence: Dear Slayton family, The DPA was my first job out of high school. I loved my job and coworkers so much I stayed there over 20 years until I left to go to nursing school. Jack and Bobbie were two of the finest people you would ever meet. Jack was an asset to the community. We send our condolences and prayers at this time, Arlene and Tommy Rector

Condolence From: Josh Boggess
Condolence: Jack, I remember the first time we met on the Central sideline in 2001. From my very first game you were a staple of constancy for sports here in englewood. Out in the community nothing ever changed no matter if it was at the grocery store or down at the park, you never stopped a beat when I yelled and said hi or wanted to have a discussion about a game from the night prior. I loved always getting your perspective on the history behind the sport or game we were entering into. You will always be in the back of my mind during a basketball game when im looking at the center bleachers below the basket or around the forty yard line in football with your chair just waiting for the game to start. Ill also never forget the time I showed you how to find the area scores on your new smartphone. Your in a better place but the mark you left is one I hope we all can achieve in life when its that time. Farewell my friend. Josh

Condolence: Memories Live Forever Dear ones come and just go by Never will they come again howsoever we may try. When they leave they bring so many tears Because we had a relationship strengthened over years. They make deep impressions on the heart In a short while they are miles apart The distance may be due to death or anger But everything has ended only in a whimper For sometime we go insane. Mind is full of sorrow and pain All this doesnt bring end of life We have to live and constantly strive Why had they come if they had to go Just to impart love for a day or so People die and reltionships end Life is not just borrow and lend Deep within there remains a gap Which gradually heals in time's lap We pick up the shedded leaves and start again Sorrow slows and there is joy again As there are moments to cherish both sweet and sour Of all those happy moments and hours For memories never break those ties!
