Gail Nunley Womac, 65, of Calhoun, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 11, 2017.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Basil H., Sr and Dorothy Boyd Nunley. She was also preceded in death by a nephew, David Nunley.
Gail was a member of Riceville Church of Christ where she was Director of the Children's Programs. She was a care taker to many people and one of her main projects was taking care of the Riceville Cemetery. Gail was a friend to all and never met a stranger and will be missed by all that loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Neal Womac of Calhoun; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeff Womac of Charleston and Alvin and Eleanor Womac of Friendsville; two grandsons, Austin Womac and Adrian Womac; one great-granddaughter, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Linda Swaffod of Riceville and Beth and Wayne McKeown of Riceville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Basil (Butch) H., Jr. and Susie and Gregory J. and Sandy Nunley all of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Minister Donnie Cable officiating. Interment will follow in Riceville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-1:30pm, at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be DJ Nunley, Cain Nunley, Toy Swafford, Tanner Swafford, Adrian Womac, Alvin Womac, Jeff Womac and Austin Womac.
