Obituary for Ada D. Rogers

Ada D. Rogers, 96, of Athens, died Wednesday morning, May 24, 2017 at U. T. Hospital in Knoxville.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late William Hardy and Julettie Baker Rogers. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters Flora Rockwell, Lorena Gingrow, Mary Reynolds, Willie Matlock, Elizabeth Ray, Lenoir Mosley, and Lavern Mantooth, and three brothers, Hardie Rogers, Roy Rogers, and Hyatt Rogers.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens and served as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Hoyt P. Smiley for 35 years until her retirement. She served in the U.S. Navy (Waves) during WWII where she served as an X-ray Technician.
She is survived by one sister, Carrie Waters of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted 12 Noon, Saturday, May 26th at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Drew Bryers officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Hillman, Tom Lovingood, Buddy Mozley, Ray Lovingood, Ray King, and Jim Ward.
