Obituary for James Dyer "Jim" Clark

Jim Clark, 78, of Niota, passed away on June 1, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Wesley and Rossie Raper Clark. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Clark Gilliam and a brother, Jack Clark.
He was retired from the position of Superintendent of the City of Niota Waterworks Department.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Sue Thompson Clark of Niota; two daughters and sons-in-law, Suzan and Frank Horning of Athens and Christy and Chris Johnson of Maryville; one son, Matthew Clark of Etowah; he had three beautiful grandchildren, Jarrod Cooper of Summerville, SC, Mikayla Cooper of Maryville and Calliope Clark of Etowah; one great-granddaughter, Morrigan Cooper of Summerville, SC; one sister, Hazel Clark Conar of Collierville; and one sister-in-law, Panny Conar Clark of Niota.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 am at the Niota Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Michelle Ketchum and Aaron Eiche for all their support and help during this difficult time.
The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Sue Clark at Capital Bank.
