John B.Milton, Sr., 86, of Athens, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
Born in McMinn County, he was a graduate of McMinn County High School and Tennessee Wesleyan University. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hoyt and Bertha Bradford Milton both of Athens.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Knox Milton of Athens; one son, Dr. John B. Milton, Jr. of Cleveland, TN; one daughter and son-law, Kelly and Russell Ford of Athens; two grandsons, Aaron Ford and Andrew Ford and his wife Shannon; two sisters Dolores Willoughby and Alice Wolfenden all of Athens.

There will be no formal visitation or service.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, August 24th at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Loren Boyce officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 E. College Street, Athens, TN 37303.
