Allyene Cranfill (Hanks)
Allyene Hanks Cranfill, 94, of Athens, died Monday, September 25, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Rush and Bertha Hughes Hanks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edward Cranfill, sisters, Zelda Gibson and Catherine Underdown, and a brother, J. W. Hanks.
She was a member of Cedar Springs United Methodist Church. She assisted her late husband in the operation of the family farm.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Don Schultz of Athens; a granddaughter and her husband, Susan and Glenn England of Seymour; a grandson and his wife, Steve and Monica Sprinkle of Nashville; two great grandsons, Sam England and Wyatt Sprinkle; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Laverne and Hugh O. Wilson and Johnnie and Ralph Benson all of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 am. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Cedar Springs United Methodist Church with Rev.David Neel officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Bill Stone, Warren Amburn, Tony Baker, Randy Tallent, Aaron Fleury, and Glenn England.
