Obituary for Marilyn Bryson (Holland)

Marilyn Holland Bryson, 79, of the Idlewild Community near Athens, died Friday night, September 29, 2017 at Athens Place.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Paul and Deemie Rogers Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Bryson.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens and was a graduate of McMinn County High School Class of 1956. She was an Executive Secretary at Bowater and Hiwassee Land Company for more than 40 years until her retirement.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ama and Brad Harris of Athens; one granddaughter, Jaye Holland Harris; one grandson, Will Bradley Harris; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shirley Wilson and Loretta and George Whitted all of Athens; one brother, Tom Holland of Wartburg; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted,7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 3rd at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Thomas and Rev. Mike Bernard officiating. There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday in Idlewild Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 pm at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Elkins, Russ Ford, Mark Wilson, Scott Roberts, Joe Elkins, Aaron Ford, Andrew Ford, and Mitchell Hollis.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Marilyn's caregivers and the Staff of Athens Place for their exceptional care and kindness to her.
The family suggests memorials be made to Central Baptist Church Youth Missions, 13 Nash Drive, Athens, TN 37303; or The Salvation Army, 435 Inman Street West, Cleveland, TN 37311.
