Ella Mae Thomas Black, 90, of Riceville, died Sunday October 29, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Loudon County and longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Dora Mae Ward Thomas Goodman Frisbie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Black, and brothers, John ,Billy Ray, and Jimmy Thomas.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Thomas & Betts after 25 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Michelle Black Boggess of Cleveland; son, William Black of Riceville; granddaughter, Brittany Sudbury; grandsons, Brian Boggess and William Christopher Black; great-grandchildren, William Nicholi Sudbury, Brian and Bentley Boggess; five sisters, Edna Johnson Sewell of Athens, Margaret Gable of Niota, Jean Brown Wade of Ten Mile, Bettye Knox Paisley (Bill) and Glenda Coleman (Fred) both of Athens; brother, Bobby Goodman (Sue) of Athens; sister-in-law, Cora Thomas of Grafton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 4:00 pm, Tuesday at Niota Cemetery with Bill Paisley officiating. There will be no formal visitation. The family will serve as pallbearers.
