J. Odean Webb, 78, of the Mt. Harmony Community near Niota, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his residence.
Odean was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late C.D. and Bessie Mason Webb. He was also preceded in death by a sister Leatrice Isbill Fox and a brother Yale Webb.
He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Odean, like his mother, was an avid gardener and enjoyed beekeeping. He retired after 34 years as a Maintenance Technician at Athens Products and was a well known auto mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mable Moore Webb of Niota; one son, Steve Webb of Athens; one grandson, Shane Webb of Athens; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Arnett Kilpatrick of Athens; Sharon and Chester Yeargan of Athens; brother, Jerry Webb of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Monreda Webb of Etowah and Jewell and her husband Jimmy Price of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be held 3:00 pm, Monday, December 11, 2017 at Mt. Harmony Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Hammonds officiating. The will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be Shane Webb, Adam Price, Jimmy Price, Eddie Mason, Robert Thompson, and Jeff Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Smith, Ralph Newman, Mike Webb and Rick Love.
