Obituary for Barbara Ann Whitlock (Jackson)

Barbara Ann Jackson Whitlock, 77, of Athens, died Saturday February 17, 2018, at her home.
Barbara grew up in Sweetwater and was a longtime resident of Athens. She was a daughter of the late Pete and Arvena Fagan Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Whitlock, son, Greg Whitlock, daughter, Kim Whitlock Altstatt, and sisters, Ida Bell Jenkins and Margaret Millsaps.
She was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church and involved in the Keith UMW. She was a graduate of Loudon County High School and retired from Athens Insurance after many years of service.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Laura Kate Whitlock of Nashville and Emily Ann Whitlock of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Lisa Dorr Whitlock of Athens; son-in-law, Bob Altstatt of Englewood; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Whitlock Young of Athens, and Marilyn Atchley; brother-in-law, Sam Jones; nieces, Lesa Hitch, Valerie Adams, Tracy Sutton, and many other nieces and nephews; The Morning Pointe Community; and many special friends.
A graveside service will be conducted, 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. David Graybeal and Rev. Will Shelton officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
