Billie Evelyn Brookshire Turner, 89, of the Mt. Harmony community near Athens, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Starr Regional Health and Rehab facility in Etowah.
She was born in Etowah and lived her entire life in McMinn County, and was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Monnie Tanner Brookshire. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy R. Turner, a daughter, Sharon Galyon, and a son, William Larry Turner.
Evelyn was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and had helped operate the family farm in the Mt. Harmony community. She was a graduate of Etowah High School.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert Reid and Mamie Turner, and Mike and Diane Turner all of Athens; one granddaughter, Mary Beth Turner; and two grandsons, James and Baily Turner; three great granddaughters.
A funeral service will be conducted, 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for two hours prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Boyd Reynolds, Donnie Anderson, Randy Reynolds, Baily Turner, Don Reynolds, and Ronnie Anderson.
