Condolence: Dear Denise and Family, I did not have the privilege of knowing your Dad. But he leaves behind one of the kindest and selfless people I know. I also know of his lasting impact on Josh. He knew what kind of man Josh was growing into. May God Bless all of you during this sad but glorious time as you celebrate your Dad's life. Coach G.

Condolence From: Joe Sutton
Condolence: So sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He & I were the same age & grew up together, residing about a block away. I had siblings who were about the same age as his siblings and our parents were also friends as well as neighbors. Freddie (as we knew him) was one of the last of our neighborhood gang. To my recollection, there are only 3 surviving people from our entire neighborhood, and it is sad to think about it as I have so many good memories growing up there. I moved away from Englewood after high school & can only recall seeing Freddie once after that. May God bless his family during this difficult time. Joe Sutton

Condolence: Fred Hicks and I grew up in Englewood. We became good friends when I was working at Dickson's Drug Store and Freddie would come by to buy a "double dip" of orange-pineapple ice cream. I was generous. After football games he would sometimes assess my performance. When Fred and I matured as young adults we began to reflect on our lives and began to set goals. This motivated us to enroll at Hiwassee College.. Neither of us had transportation so we hitched a ride each morning with Bob Howell. The ride was pleasant except when we were late. On those days Bob would drive his Corvette frightening us out of our minds racing on the road at 90 mph to school. We survived, graduating and went to graduate school to become professionals. We were friends for life.
