John Charles Moessinger, 90, of Athens, died Thursday morning, July 19, 2018 at his residence.
John was a native of Albany, NY and was a son of the late John Charles and Mary Cecily Dugan Moessinger.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York. He was associated with International Paper Company in various capacities as an electrical engineer retiring after 35 years of service.
He was survived by his wife, Patricia (Patti) Gath Moessinger; his children, Paula M. (James)Tapner, John C. Moessinger, III, O.D., and Mary M. Moessinger; grandchildren, Jason M. and Justin E. Fletcher, and Charlotte McGiffin; great-grandchildren, Anna S. Fletcher, Isaac Fletcher, and Elliott Fletcher; brother and his wife, David Moessinger and Jeri Taylor.
A funeral service will be conducted, 4:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. David Graybeal officiating. The family will receive friends from Saturday from 2:00-3:30 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at Newton Cemetery in Newton, MA., Monday, July 23, 2018.
