Welcome

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website. Our commitment to serve you better transcends our facility. We invite you to browse our website, and please feel comfortable enough to stop and submit a question or comment if you wish. We strive to make our families and visitors feel comfortable while paying respects to their lost loved ones, and we make considerable efforts to maintain our focus on the high standards expected of a place of tribute.

COVID-19 Statement

Smith Funeral & Cremation Services of Athens realizes the importance of the health, safety and well-being of our guests, staff and general public. We are constantly monitoring the current (COVID -19) situation, developments and directives as related to the virus.

Smith Funeral Home is open and continues serving your family and loved ones 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as we have done since 1884   (formerly Evans Funeral Home).

In order to comply with Federal and State regulations, we currently cannot allow any public visitations or funeral services. All services will be private and   limited to ten or less persons.

If you prefer not to come to our office to make arrangements, we currently offer appointments by phone. Those who choose to come to our office, we   require you limit the number of people attending to three (3).

If you are attending services, please follow the CDC recommendations below:

* Maintain a distance of approximately 6 feet from others when possible

* Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds

* Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands

* Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm or inner elbow * Avoid close contact with sick people * Stay home when you are sick or not feeling well

We are practicing social distancing and encourage you to do the same. We are also implementing additional cleaning measures to our current practices to insure the safety of our associates and guests.

If you do want to reach out to the family, please feel free to do so on our guestbook.

If you have any questions, or concerns, we will be happy to help you in any way.

Executive Order No.17, issued on Sunday, March 22, 2020, by Governor Bill Lee. To limit the spread of COVID-19, the Governor has ordered that persons in the State of Tennessee shall not participate in social gatherings of ten (10) or more people. Those social gatherings include but are not limited to visitations, funerals, or other memorial events and burial of deceased human remains (whether held at a funeral establishment, church, cemetery or other facility).

Locations

We provide our families with an open door policy. Please feel free to contact us 24 hours a day.
