Obituary for Glenn Ray Nunley

Glenn R. Nunley, 78, of Athens, died early Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at his home.

He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Charlie and Texie Dawson Nunley and was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Barbara Nunley, one sister Mildred Anderson and brothers Donnie,Jim, Leck, Roy and Clifford Nunley.

He attended Rockview Baptist Church. He was associated with Athens Stove Works for 43 years in the assembly department, until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife 60 years, Jo Ann Gennoe Nunley of Athens; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Johnnie Sue Nunley of Decatur and Johnny and Felicia Nunley of Niota; grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Brad Page, Adam and Heather Nunley, Heather and Paul Henry and Heath Nunley; great-grandchildren, Kandice, Abigail, and Joseph Henry, Logan and Evan Nunley, Anecia Caldwell, Ethan and Kinsleigh Page, Kalyn and Dawson Nunley; four sisters, Virginia Morgan of Niota, Hazel Clark of Niota, Gerri (James) Blazer of Riceville and Margaret (Troy) Walden of Niota; and one brother, Bruce (Sybil) Nunley of Etowah.

A funeral service will be conducted, 7:30 pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Standridge and Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday in Pond Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Nonley, Charles Nunley, Heath Nunley, Paul Henry, Brad Page, Larry Goins and Jeremy Lingerfelt.
