Obituary for William Earl "Bill" Yielding

William Earl "Bill" Yielding, was born in Roderfield, WV on September 19, 1946. He was a resident of McMinn County for the past 37 years where he chose to raise his family. He passed away suddenly at Starr Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack M., Sr. and Alma Yielding, and a brother-in-law, Billy Fuller.
He was a long time member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, member of the choir, and was on the building and scout committees.
He graduated from Albany High School in 1964 and earned a BS Degree from Georgia Southern College in 1968. He also attended the University of Georgia. He worked at Athens Plow as a mechanical designer. He started his own business, McMinn Technical Service which led to plant manager and engineering manager at Taylor Pittsburg Implement Company. His last 15 years were spent at Vestal Manufacturing in Sweetwater, TN where he served as manufacturing engineer.
He was a responsible, caring Christian man who loved his family, his church, and his country. He was an outstanding woodworker and loved camping and the outdoors. His sense of responsibility and work ethic was noted by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Bigbie Yielding, who was his high school sweetheart; two wonderful Christian sons and their wives, Bryan A. and Carla Yielding and Brett A. and Kellie Yielding; four grandchildren, Jackson, Will, Elizabeth, and Luke; He was also survived by one brother and his wife, Jack M., Jr. and Wylene Yielding, of Albany, GA; three sisters and their husbands, Sandy and Stan Reaves, Sr. of Young Harris, GA; Patti and Grat Atkinson of Tazewell, VA, and Kathy Fuller of Elizabeth City, NC; one brother-in-law and his wife, Samuel and Sheila Bigbie of Arnold, MD; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends and godparents to his sons, Wayne and Sharon Davis, and goddaughter, Melissa Davis, all of Acworth, GA.
A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Charla Sherbakoff officiating. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Thursday in Clearwater Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 pm, Wednesday prior to the serve at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Yielding, Brett Yielding, Jackson Yielding, Will Yielding, Luke Yielding, Lennis Chambers, and Marc Swafford.
