Gladys Isbill Leamon, 87, of Riceville, passed away Sunday morning, April 17, 2016 at the home of her daughter.
She was a native of Monroe County and longtime resident of the Eastanallee Community, and was a daughter of the late Luther and Della Mitchell Isbill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Leamon, and several brothers and sisters.
She was a longtime dedicated member of Eastanallee Baptist Church where she had taught a Sunday school class for 35 years. She also enjoyed participating in all activities with the Eastanallee Silver Stars. She was a former teachers aide at Riceville Elementary School.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Larry Allen of Riceville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Beth Leamon of Statesville, NC, Rodney and Judy Leamon of Melborne Beach, FL, and Darrell and Kathy Leamon of Athens; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Myrtle and Pryor Stephens of Athens, Bonnie Watson of Madisonville, and Bobby Dew of Gilbertown, AL; a sister-in-law, Otsa Isbill of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Eastanallee Baptist Church with Rev. Oran Creasman officiating. Family and friends will meet at Eastanallee Cemetery at 11:00 am, Thursday, for the committal service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
