George Daniel (Dan) Lunsford, 66, of Athens, died Monday morning, April 9, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, TN.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late George Thomas Lunsford.
He was a Christian and had been associated with H&H Auto Sales for 29 years as a Mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Sayne Lunsford; mother, Catherine Carroll Lunsford both of Athens; one daughter Julie (Richard) Tanksley of Decatur; one son Ricky Epps of Athens; one granddaughter, Tayla Epps; two grandson, Romey Epps and Anthony (Selena) Kemper and future great-granddaughter Lakelynn Rain Kemper; brother, Dale (Edna) Lunsford of Athens; niece, Brittany Lunsford Johnson; and many friends and co-workers.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00 pm, Wednesday April 11, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Baggett and Rev. Martin Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.
