Gordon Carlos Ford, 77, of Athens, died, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Claude and Tommye Sue Elder Ford.
He was of the Church of Christ faith and was owner and operator of Ford Dozier Service. He was a former member of the Chilhowee Shrine Motor Patrol and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Kelly Ford ; two grandsons, Aaron Ford, and Andrew Ford and his wife Shannon all of Athens; one great-granddaughter, Sara Ford; a daughter, Lisa Cordell of Ten Mile (Sarah, Austin, and Ethan Blackmon); two sisters, Janice (Tracy) Simpson of Ten Mile and Brenda (Darrell) Swafford of Athens; one brother Doug (Carolyn) Ford of Athens; a special nephew Todd Ford, and several other nieces and nephews.
The family will meet at 11:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2018 at Idlewild Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating.
