Obituary for Janice Williams (Clift)

Janice Clift Williams, 54, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at home with her family in Chattanooga, TN.
Born in Cleveland, TN, she was the daughter of the late William and Joan Clift and long time resident of Athens, TN.
Janice graduated from McMinn County High School as Miss MCHS in 1981. She then received her Bachelor's degree in Education at Tennessee Wesleyan University (College) where she was an active member of Alpha Xi sorority. Following this degree, she also received her Master's in Education from UTC and Ed.S. from TN Tech.
Janice was a beloved elementary school teacher for 31 years at Etowah City, Mountain View, and Rogers Creek. She was an active member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed spending her time singing in the choir.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Williams, and children, Nolan and Victoria Williams. She is also survived by her brother, William (Carla) Clift of Dumfries, VA; sister-in-law, Caroline Williams; cousin, Libby Miller Rogers; and a special caretaker, Anjela Jones.
Heartfelt thanks are given from her family to her devoted caregivers, and also the medical professionals at Tennessee Oncology in Chattanooga as well as Hospice of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 6, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. David Graybeal and Rev. Will Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Williams, Bill Clift, Alex Clift, Drew Johnson, Charlie Cunnyngham, Joshua Jenkins, Jay Kinser, and Sean Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Rogers and Frank (Porky) Kinser.
