Obituary for Ivene Buttram (Benton)

Ivene Benton Buttram, 99, of Athens, died Sunday morning, May 27, 2018 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late A.C. and Amanda Pearl Holland Benton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Buttram, a son Bill Buttram, a grandson, Troy Giles, Jr., and two brothers Hook and Ross Benton.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was associated with Proffitt's Department Store for 32 years until her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Troy Giles of Athens, and Linda and Charles (Chuck) Condo of Cleveland; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Buttram of Fredericksburg, VA; two granddaughters, Patti B. Brooks and Amanda C. Bradbury; seven grandsons, Michael, Todd and Joe Buttram, Travis and Trent Giles, and Blake and Zane Condo; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother John R. McCloud of Knoxville.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:30 am, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Boyce officiating. The committal service will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
