Obituary for Limon David Kimbro

Limon David Kimbro, 73, of Athens and formerly of Lenoir City, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at North Knoxville Medical Center.
He was a native of Edinburg, Texas and was a son of late James Dalton and Gertrude Kilpatrick Kimbro. He was also preceded in death by a sister Ruth Simmons.
He was a member of Two Rivers Church of Lenoir City and was presently attending Eastanallee Baptist Church. He was a member of New Brockton #694 F&AM, he was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Jamil Shrine Temple. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war where he was a Purple Heart Recipient, received a Silver Star Medal, an Air Medal and Republic of Campaign Medal. He was associated with the U.S. Dept of Energy as a Senior Quality Engineer until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Lee Ila Gohagan Kimbro of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie K. and Bill LaMunyan of Riceville; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Leah Kimbro of Katy, TX and Joe and Devori Kimbro of Athens; one granddaughter, Jordan Barnett; two grandsons, John David and Jason Kimbro; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Glenda and Charlie Clark and Wynette Blount all of Kinston, Alabama; and one brother Terry Kimbro of Swan Valley, Idaho.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 3, 2018 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Dr. Norman Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. The committal service will be 1:30 pm, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors provided at the graveside by the U.S. Army.
Pallbearers will be Lane Clark, John David Kimbro, Jason Kimbro, Bobby Stennett, Toby Stennett, and Sam Stennett.
