Obituary for Omega Emmaline "Emmaline" Nation (Saffles)

Omega Emmaline Saffles Nation, 95, of Englewood died Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a native of Monroe County and longtime resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Sina and Maggie Barr Saffles. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ross Vernon ( RV) Nation, sisters, Mildred Saffles, Willie Kirksey, Sina Mae Rhea, and Roxie Harrill, and brothers, Harless Saffles, Doc Saffles and Dan Saffles.
She was a member of the Englewood Christian Church and volunteered at Englewood Textile Mill. She was associated with Niota Textile for 40 years until her retirement.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Charles Burke of Athens; a son, Mike Nation of Englewood; a granddaughter and her husband, Angie and Todd Droz of Knoxville; a grandson, Adam Nation of Knoxville; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Avery Droz.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 28, 2018 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Don Wattenbarger officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30am-1:30 pm at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Joe Saffles, Dan Saffles, Jim Saffles, David Kirksey, Tom Nation, and Andy Nation. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Griffith, Frank Griffith and Sam Harrill.
