Condolence: So shocking and sad to learn of Jim's passing. Seventh grade classmates at Forest Hill, classmates at McMinn and Wesleyan and friends for over seventy years. He was not only our senior class ('52) president at McMinn, but president for life. He led our class, inspired us to stay together, and with help from others, contributed to our class keeping in touch and accounting for every member...to this day. A small bit among the many contributions he has made to his community.

Through our class reunions and many private contacts, Jim has been a lifeline, connecting the dots between then and now; his presence and friendship was always supportive and positive.

My best wishes to his family...and many close friends. Although difficult, I will try to follow the adage I use all too often these days: "Let's don't be sad because it is over; let's smile because it happened." With Jim, that becomes possible.

Jim's life and influence just makes that easier to do.

Condolence: I remember many many hours spent with Jim managing softball tournaments and supervising everything softball-related when I was Director there. Jim taught me a lot, and I enjoyed working with him and his professionalism and attention to detail. Have some great memories with Ross as well- going to UT basketball games, playing softball with Webb Plumbing and watching a UT football bowl game or two. Jim left a great legacy and will be missed.
