Obituary for Jean Nankivell (Bush)
Jean Bush Nankivell, 98, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and formerly of Athens, TN passed away on April 10, 2019.
Jean was a native of Chestnut Hill, Tennessee, daughter of the late Henry Claude Bush and Amy Caton Bush. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and was a dietician of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She and her husband, Roy, were married for 68 years before his passing in 2014. Jean was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and served her communities in many volunteer capacities. She was an amazing cook, homemaker, avid reader and had a special ability to make true friends wherever she went in life. She was inspirational to a very large family, her children's friends and friends she made in Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina. She and Roy were especially active at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church in Athens, Tennessee.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Edward) Keil, Rebecca (Russell) Tiller and Elizabeth (Anthony) Wilson; a brother Allen (Ann) Bush; grandchildren, Jennifer , Nathan, Matt, Stuart, Amy, Amy ad Laura; great grandchildren, Lindsey, Wilson, Karsyn, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Colton, Mary Jude, James and Henry. Her brother Condon (Betsey) Bush predeceased her.
Interment will be held on June 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, Tennessee with Rev. Andrew Lay officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Athens, TN 37371-0001.
