Obituary for Max Franklin Barnett

Max Franklin Barnett passed in peace on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the age of 74. Born on May 5, 1945, in Spring City, Tennessee to the late Rosa L. Barnett. Max was President/Owner of Barnett Water Systems in Athens, Georgia specializing in wastewater irrigation. He served as President of the Georgia Irrigation Association, the State of Georgia Water Council, as well as Commodore of the Athens Boat Club in Dawsonville, Georgia. His main purpose in life was the love for his family, protecting those he loved, and passing knowledge to those he was around leaving a substantial legacy of his journey. Survivors that will rejoice in his triumphant return to his Heavenly Father include his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy Taylor Barnett; son, Gregory Marc (Merrie) Barnett; and daughters, Vanessa Love (Ron) Wilson, and Jyl Cheree Gryder; brother, Rex Stephen Barnett; grandchildren Miller Barnett, Mason Barnett, Andy Barnett, Katheryne Wilson, Lindsey (Tiffany) Wilson, Mallory Wilson, Michael Gryder, and David Gryder; Great Grandchildren, Mia Wilson, Brody Brown and Gunner Brown; Niece and Nephews, Davis Rogers, Janet Partain Rogers, Jeff Robbins, William Bucky Taylor, Taylor Rogers and Holly Rogers.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at McMinn Memory Gardens in Athens, Tennessee with Rev. Randall Bates officiating.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
