Obituary for Thelma Lee Purviance

Thelma L. Purviance, a resident of NHC of Athens, Tennessee, was called home to walk with the Lord on December 11, 2019.
Born January 7, 1917, to the late Emma Porter and Lee Alfred Purviance in Pleasant Plains, Illinois, she was a long time resident of Springfield, Tennessee, before moving to Athens fourteen years ago.
For over 48 years Thelma was a doctor's assistant as well as a registered x-ray technician associated with Dr. J. E. Wilkison's medical practice in Springfield, TN.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and optimism. This world would be a much better place if there were more angels on earth as equal to Thelma.
She was of the Methodist faith and was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine P. Batson and her brother, Alfred P. Purviance.
Survivors include one niece Thelma (Tom) Pikciunas of Athens, TN; two nephews, Jack Purviance of Taylors, SC, and Jimmy (Annette) Purviance of Springfield, TN.
There will be no formal visitation but a grave side service in Springfield, Tennessee. The family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity in Thelma Purviance's memory.
