Obituary for Imogene Moore Cox-Myers (Howard)

Imogene M. Howard Cox-Myers, 81, of Riceville, passed away Thursday morning, December 12, 2019 at home.
She was a resident of Chattanooga for several years before moving to Riceville in 1979, and was a daughter of the late Marvin "Whitey" and June Moore Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Cox, sisters, Ailene Young and Shirley Lipps, and a brother, Marvin "Bug" Howard.
She was a member of the Church of Christ of Riceville. She was associated as a secretary with Riceville Utility part time and with Wade Products until her retirement.
She is survived by, Claude S. Myers of Charleston; a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Tommy McDonald of Riceville; granddaughter, Sarah Malissa Parkinson; grandson, Joshua Mark (Meneka) Sherlin; two step-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Spartan Lyle; sisters, Patricia L. Dennis of Cleveland, Karen (Perry)Randle of Athens and Frances G.(David) Hickman of Cleveland.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00 pm, Monday, December 16, 2019 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Minister Donnie Cable officiating. The committal service will be 11:00am, Tuesday in Sullins Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Sherlin, Randy Cook, Seth Cook, Mark Heier, David Purkey, and Jeremy Ware. Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Graves.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital-Tribute, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
