Obituary for Max Douglas Harper

Max Douglas Harper, 76, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at his residence.
He was a native of Georgia and was the son of the late Howard T. and Eula Lee Green Harper. He was also preceded in death by his wife Linda Flynn Harper, a sister Jewell Dean Harper, and a brother Terry Lee Harper.
He was of the Christian faith and was a Mason. He was a Union journeyman carpenter and retired from T.U. Parks Construction Company.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Dennis Howard of Athens; three sons and daughters-in-law, Max Alan and Lindsey Harper of Warner Robins, FA, Randall and Robbie Haper of Delano, and Mark and Patrella Harper of Athens; nine granddaughters, six grandsons, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bobbie Joyce Harper, Fay Harper, and Glynnell Harper; two brothers, Lewis R. Harper and James Taft Harper; and a special friend, Clara Mae Robinson.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 am, Saturday, May 23rd at McMinn Memory Gardens with Minister Richard White officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
