Obituary for Ernest H "Ernie" Thomas
Ernest H."Ernie" Thomas, 76, of Athens, died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at his residence.
He was a native of Madisonville and longtime resident of McMinn County, and was a son of the late Arnold and Stella Williams Thomas.
He was of the Baptist Faith and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam war. He was a member of the VFW Post #5146 in Athens. He was owner and operator of Thomas Heating & Air until his retirement.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Allen Peters of Apison; granddaughter, Raegan Peters a student at UTK ; sister, Annette Pulley of Nashville; and brother, James (Kay) Thomas of Englewood.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 am, Thursday, August 13, 2020 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Richard Mason officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.
The family suggests memorials be made to McMinn Regional Humane Society, 219 Alford Street, Athens, TN 37303.
