Obituary for Russell Bryd Slusser
Russell Byrd Slusser, 62, of Athens, passed away Thursday night, July 15, 2021 at his home.
He was a longtime resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Bob and Barbara Wooliver Tucker. He was also preceded in death by a son Christopher Charles Slusser, and brothers, Pete, George, Charles, and Colin Slusser.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Perkins Slusser of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Beth Slusser of Athens; grandchildren, Aven Slusser, Fallyn Slusser, Kingston Slusser, Lennox Principato, Zach Reed, and Wesley Reed daughter-in-law and her husband, Alana and Joe Principato of Easley, SC; brother, Bo Slusser of Knoxville; sisters, Jan Lundy and Sandy Adkins of Knoxville; and mother and father-in-law, June and Junior Brown of Decatur.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00 pm, Monday, July 19, 2021 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 519 E. 4th Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403 or American Diabetes Association Knoxville TN Office, 211 Center Park Drive Suite 3010, Knoxville, TN 37922..
