Glenn Ross Horton, D Ph, 79, of Athens, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was the son of the late Glenn Ives and Agnes Hawk Horton. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ferguson Horton and a grandson, Seth Larson, step-son , David Young and a half sister, Frances Newton.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Athens. He was a former member of the Athens Rotary Club. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated from the University of Tennessee Memphis school of Pharmacy. He was employed with Woods Memorial Hospital for 17 years as DPh, Revco pharmacy and later retired from Bi-Lo Pharmacy.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Glennanne and Thomas Boegly of Knoxville, Julie and Zack Tomlin, and Marie Larson all of Athens; six grandsons, Wesley Snyder, II, Tristen Leamon, Julian Leamon, Will Boegly, and Ethan Boegly.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23rd at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Marion West officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-1:30pm, Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home prior to the graveside.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and a dear friend, Chandler Patrick.
