Obituary for James Tucker Swafford

James Tucker Swafford, 16, of Athens, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence.
Tucker was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Max Smith, paternal great-grandmother, Carolyn Boyd, and paternal great-great-grandmother, Margaret Morrow.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County, he attended Keith Memorial United Methodist Church and Solid Rock Baptist Church.
He was a sophomore at McMinn County High School. He liked to make people laugh and smile. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and golfing.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Amanda and Nathan Watts of Athens; father, Tyler Swafford; sister, Reagan Watts of Athens; paternal grandparents, Joe and Tammy Swafford of Athens; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Shell Smith of Athens; paternal great-grandmother, Joan Key of Riceville; aunts, Heather (Shawn) Lingerfelt, Amber Smith of Athens, and Wesley (Hannah) Swafford of Niota; uncle, James Parker of Riceville; paternal grandparents, Bob and Carol Watts of Etowah; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 26th in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Martin, Rev. Reed Shell, Rev. David Graybeal, and Rev. Andrew Lay officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 3:30 pm Saturday prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Riley Owen, Nic Giles, Jayce Falls and Jaylan Witt.
