Obituary for Ann Underdown (Adams)

Jimmie Ann Adams Underdown, 85, of Athens, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 6, 2022.
She was a daughter of the late James Allen and Ruby Green Adams. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Zack Webb, two sisters Fay Adams and Frances Adams, and a brother Harold Adams.
Ann was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church for 56 years. Prior to her death she had a perfect Sunday beginning with Church and Sunday School, spending time with her family, and talking on the phone about her new great-granddaughter. Ann was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. You would find her helping the needy, and visiting a sick friend, or greeting a new neighbor. In the last few years she wasn't able to go visit, but she loved her visitors. Ann will be highly missed
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Underdown; son and daughter-in-law, Jacky and Ellen Underdown; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Darrell Torbett; daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Taylor Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Christi and David Dubois; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Adams; sister-in-law, Joy Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted,1:30 pm, Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hubble officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00am-1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
