Obituary for George L Hall

George L. Hall, 78, of Athens, TN,
passed away on Friday
July 8, 2022 at his residence. He was the son
of Francis and Virginia
Hall. He is survived by his
loving wife of 45 years,
Jacqueline Hall, brother Warne (Joan), sister
Nina, daughter Wendy
(Kyle), son David (Pamela), stepdaughter Dawn (Albert), stepson Matthew,
5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
George grew up in Coshocton, OH became a
manager of IGA and A&D Foodarama grocery
stores in Ohio as well as worked for Ore Ida foods
and was the proprietor of George’s Old Fashioned
Ice Cream Parlor in Massillon for several years.
He and his wife moved to Bradenton, FL and the
later to Athens, TN.
George was an advocate for changing the TN
school system regulations to allow blind students
to bring their seeing-eye dogs into the school. He
trained at the South Eastern Guide Dog School and
came home with a new best friend named Patriot.
They went everywhere together and would attend
speaking events to educate and promote the use
of guide dogs and schools.
A graveside service will be conducted by Grace
United Methodist Church of Coshocton, OH at
a later date.
