Obituary for Dorothy Jean Kaylor (Alexander)

Dorothy Jean Alexander Kaylor, 88, of Acworth, Georgia and formerly of Athens, TN passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Dorothy was a native of Columbia County, Ohio and longtime resident of Athens, TN and was a daughter of the late Rev. Harry M. and Doris Latshaw Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harding Kaylor; a grandson, Stephen Bishop; two sisters, Elaine Clidinston, Betty Brown and Lois Longest; and a brother, Harry M. Alexander.
She was a member of North Athens Baptist Church and retired from Athens Products after 23 years of service.
She is survived by, one daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Michael Colbaugh, Sr. of Chattanooga, TN ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Kaylor of Acworth, GA and James Roy and Susan Kaylor of Athens; eight grandchildren and spouses, Stephanie Kaylor, Amy and Joe Solsbee, Tiffany and Lucas Turolla, Hannah and Bayson Kees, Danielle Bishop Blair and Allen Blair, Zachary and Jessica Bishop, Jeremy and Sarah Kaylor and Michael D. and Sabrina Kaylor; and 20 great-grandchildren
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:30 pm, Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with her son Michael Kaylor officiating. Interment will follow in New Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, at the funeral home prior to the service.
