Obituary for Robert S "Bob" Sevigny

Robert S. Sevigny, 76 of Athens TN passed on Monday August 22 at Star Regional Hospital from complications after a stroke.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Sylvia F. Sevigny, their two children Cheryl L. Sevigny of Chattanooga, David R. Sevigny of Maryville; three grandchildren Shayne Ashcraft, Alyssa Sevigny, and Sara Sevigny; three great grandchildren Bryson Hufty, Keely Ashcraft, and Liam Bloodworth.
Robert was devoted to his family, St. Mary’s Catholic church, and within the Athens/McMinn community by working on many service projects, Contact Hotline, the McMinn Humane society, Kiwanis club, and many others. He spent several years on the board of AUB.
Robert was born in Rochester, New Hampshire in 1946 to Eugene and Helen Sevigny, he had one brother Richard; all deceased.
Robert started his family as an electrical contractor in Rochester, NH. As his family grew he was offered a maintenance position at a company he contracted for, Davidson Rubber Company. While working he expanded his education in the trades, certificate programs, and various other continuing education. He then moved to Americus GA following a promotion to engineer with Davidson Rubber Interior Trim Division. Roberts' career continued to flourish with his move to Athens, TN still with the same company which later became Textron.
Robert eventually left Textron to work for a Canadian firm Magna, which he retired from. Robert then returned from retirement by creating his own consulting company 7E solutions.
Robert's career afforded him the opportunity to travel the world, see many interesting things that satisfied his need for always learning.
Roberts favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, when family came together for the very best of reasons. He never missed an opportunity to attend a family function, sporting event or celebration. He was always ready to offer encouragement, share a story of wisdom, or just listen. He will be sadly missed, fondly remembered, tempered with laughter from the heart.

Receiving of friends will be held Friday, August 26th at Smith Funeral Home from 11:30am to 1:30pm, service will be held in the chapel immediately after. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
