Arthur S.Hamman, 90, of Athens, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was a native of Battle Creek, Michigan and was the son of the late Arthur C. and Louise Swan Hamman. He was also preceded in death by his wife Catherine Suino Hamman and a brother, Jack Hamman.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a Forester with Hiwassee Land Company and Bowater in the Woodlands Division for thirty nine years until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Joe Morris of Hummelstown, PA; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Margaret Hamman of Jasper, Ala; one granddaughter, Cassidy (Luke) Rutledge ; two grandsons, Justin (Elizabeth) Hamman and Chad (Abby) Hamman; and five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Leighton, Carter, Maddie, and Madison.
A memorial service will be conducted, 1:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Athens with Rev. Dr. John Orr officiating. The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, September 1st.
